What is 3105 aluminum sheet/plate?

3105 alloy metal aluminum plate is AL-Mn 3105 metal aluminum alloy, which belongs to 3000 series aluminum alloy. It is basically a 98% aluminum alloy with a small amount of additives added to increase the strength of alloys 1100 and 3003. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment and has good corrosion resistance, formability and weldability.

Typical applications include general sheet metal work requiring higher strength than 1000 series aluminum alloys, residential siding, mobile homes and sign making.

Magnesium, manganese and silicon are added to the 3105 aluminum plate, so it has excellent correction resistance, formability and welding characteristics. In addition, it has general mechanical properties that are improved in the harder condition than in the annealed condition.

Features of 3105 aluminum sheet

Due to the addition of manganese, its advantages are rust and corrosion resistance. 3000 series aluminum sheet has higher corrosion resistance and higher strength. This corrosion resistance exists not only in air, but also in dilute acid, so it can be used in many special environments.

Compared with pure aluminum plate, the hardness of 3000 series aluminum plate is higher, about 10%-20% higher than that of pure aluminum plate. The 3000 series cannot be heat treated and can be cold worked to increase the degree. Good properties at room temperature include the following: formability, weldability and corrosion resistance, and weldability.

Disadvantages of 3105 aluminum alloy: When tempering cold deformation, there is a tendency to peel and corrode. The degree of peeling is related to the amount of deformation. Anodizing is generally not performed because it is found through practice that the color is not uniform after anodizing.
