What Is 5005 Alloy Aluminum Sheet
Aluminum alloy 5005 contains 0.8% magnesium, aluminum alloy is usually available in flat roll, 5005 aluminum plate and sheet from various production plants, tigers support bulkbuy.
It has medium strength, good weldability and good corrosion resistance in marine environments. Aluminum 5005 alloy is a low-density aluminum-depleted magnesium alloy with good thermal conductivity. H116 and H321 can be used in fresh and sea water.
5005 has only a very small amount of magnesium added and is therefore the weakest of the 5000 series alloys.
This alloy can be hardened by cold work to a very high degree, capable of a range of "H" tempers, but again cannot achieve the high strengths of the corresponding tempers of other alloys such as 5052 or 5083.

5005 Aluminum Sheet Application
The main components of 5005 aluminum sheet are iron, magnesium and silicon, therefore, it has good weldability and resistance to correction (especially when anodized), which makes it suitable for marine applications. 5005 aluminum sheet is also a non-heat treatable alloy that can be strengthened (hardened) by cold working. However, hot working is usually unnecessary. Also, it scores well for formability, especially in the softer temper. The machinability of 5005 aluminum sheet is generally quite poor. 5005-H34 and 5003-H38 can be machined, but are more difficult to machine than many other aluminum alloys.
